Create Memories with Mum @ Aman Rimba

Dah lama rasanya tak join any event and thanks to Nuffnang, I was invited for a getaway last Saturday. Tak tahu apa nak expect sebab dah lama tak join any event kan but was so tempted bila tahu ada makeover and skincare trial dalam itinerary. Terus Of course lah nak pergi kan! This event was organized by Her World magazine so there were readers (mom and daughter pair) and of course us bloggers participated in this event.  Seawal 8 pagi kami semua dah berkumpul dekat BluInc Office di PJ, nasib baik dekat dengan rumah, so memang convenient nak pergi. Mula mula tu agak kekok jugak nak sembang2 tapi after awhile tu ok je.

Kitorang sampai di Janda Baik dalam pukul 10 pagi mcm tu and kena jalan sikit ke tempat kejadian iaitu di Aman Rimba. Bas memang tak muat nak masuk so we had to walked a bit to reach there. Nasib baik tak pakai heels, if not sure la dah terkehel. Tapi seronok je jalan sebabnya ramai kawan. Plus dah kata blogger, pastilah camwhore. Walaupun tengah trekking ke walking ke, camera dan kami tak dapat dipisahkan. Semua sporting habis.

If am not mistaken, jarak dari tempat kita turun bas dengan Aman Rimba ni lebih kurang 2km. Mengah uuu. Nasib baik makanan dah tersedia so terus makan akibat tak breakfast. Hehe.  Mesti la kena makan sebabnya first activity was treasure hunt! kita berpecah mengikut team masing masing yang terbahagi kepada 5 warna. Biru, pink, oren, kelabu dan team saya Kuning. Syarat yang paling utama dalam hunt ni, semua team member harus bersama pada setiap masa dan kena habiskan task tersebut before nak dapat new task. I tak kenal sesiapa pun dalam team I, I berkenalan ngan diorang during our hunt tu. Kebanyakkan team mates I semua mak mak yang vogue and anak diorang semua dah teenager tapi all of them are so energetic. Gigih ok buat task. Paling takleh lupa adalah task dimana we had to create a circle/hula hoop from a piece of A4 paper that can fit 2 persons at a time. Bukan 2 je, all members dapat masuk. Hehe.

Well if you are wondering what event is this, its actually a unique outdoor workshop organized and support by HerWorld and in conjunction to create awareness to public targeting girls age 14-19 and their parents on cervical cancer vaccination. Dr Yap Moy Juan, O&G of The Fetal Medicine Gynaecology Centre Petaling Jaya was the speaker of the day. She was very jovial and explained to us why it s important to stay healthy and get protected against the third most popular cancer in Malaysia. During her session, she told us that cervical cancer can occur at any age in a woman’s life and usually women diagnosed with cervical cancer are between 35-55. These women were most likely exposed to HPV during their teens and 20s.

Bad news for smoker, they are also at higher risk as tobacco smoke can produce chemicals that may damage the DNA in the cells of the cervix and make cancer more likely to occur. You should also not start smoking and quit smoking, as this not only protects against cervical cancer but many other cancers and diseases. By the way HPV is transmitted through sex so you might want to delay it until you are officially a mrs ;) girls delay having sex, better still wait til you get married, do not start smoking and last but not least, do your pap smear check ups ya :)

If you have daughter age between 14 to 19 years old, you don’t really need to worry because Malaysian Medical Association has launched a programme where they will stand to benefit from cervical cancer vaccination which is being offered at access prices. There will be 3 injections over 6 months to get the best protection you have to ensure that your daughter receives the vaccination as per the schedule which will be informed by your doctor. here is the hotline and toll free number 1-800-22-8688 if you need further clarification.

 

It was a bit awkward when the slides were showing, some girls giggled when funny pictures appeared and yes I can see that a lot of moms there realized how important is is to have get the vaccination for their teenage girls.

After the talk, we had lunch and freshen up. Lepas tu, the pampering session began! Skincare demo from Origins where we had to experience the latest product which only will be released next month. Dah lama nak try Origin products, dapat juga akhirnya. Percuma pulak tu, bertambah tambah suka :D

Followed by Victoria Jackson, a new make up brand from the USA. Here the make up artist teach us to use all the right technique for day and night make up. I kind of love the product as it blend well with my skin. It does not look heavy and so natural. Ya ya tapi kalau malas nak apply camane? hehe

Lepas semua dah di makeover oleh Victoria Jackson team, tibalah masa yang ditunggu – tunggu. Oh before that we had tea break where they served laksa and bubur kacang hitam. yums! Then baru prize giving :D Haha. Well takdelah berharap sebabnya kita tak dapat habiskan few task and ada jugak skip. So when they announced team yellow no 1, menjerit jerit la semua team members. Wehoo! We each received Victoria Jackson products worth RM150! Yeay for teamwork and strategy :p

The workshop ended with a group photo session. So happening okeh all this mothers with their daughters. They screamed and laughed and giggles je throughout the day. No wonder all of them look so young ;p Thanks again HerWorld for organizing such informative workshop and made my weekend more awesome and memorable!
